TO: Josh Devlin (josh.devlin@hoennleague.gov) CC: howard slayte (howard.slayte@hoenn.net) MISSION: "Gorge in Distress" PROTOCOL: Search-and-Rescue DANGER: ★★☆☆☆
We have received a distress call from a fresh Cadet Ranger who had been overwhelmed by a pack of Scrafty while guiding a father and son on a hike through Chimney Canyon on Route 112. They have taken refuge near a cliff on the canyon's east side. They are safe for now, but they have no way to escape without provoking the ire of the wild Pokémon prowling the canyon floor. Your mission is to bring the Ranger, father, and son safely back to Lavaridge Town.
Your objectives are as follows:
A) Locate and rescue the Ranger. B) Locate and rescue the father and son. C) Minimize wild Pokémon casualties.
Unacceptable levels of damage to the environment, including of wild Pokémon populations, will result in a mission failure. Try to avoid combat if possible, but you are authorized to use nonlethal force against the Scrafty if need be. Please see attachment for a triangulation of the victims' most recent mobile phone data; it will help you narrow your search for the marooned parties.
Per your restitution with the League, this is the sixth of ten assignments you will complete without compensation.
Good luck! We're all counting on you. Josh loved his feline Pokémon. Big cats were truly a joy to be on the back of, provided one was skilled enough to handle them. Their powerful strides, sheer speed, and the ability to slide around sharp corners was a thrill that got the blood pumping. The downside was that they were all for advanced riders, and howard slayte was not one of them. He left all of his feline Pokémon at the Gym, bringing some of his more gentle ones to accommodate his new acquaintance he hoped would turn friend.
Once Howard had messaged he was ready, Josh would pick him up from his hotel, this time bringing a Boltund instead of the Luxray. The big dog would be a much easier Pokémon to control than Blitz was, but still quite fleet of foot. "There you are, Howard," the Gym Leader, seated on his Manectric, greeted the young man. "I tried to bring some less rough-and-tumble Pokémon for you this time, especially because we're going to be traveling a lot farther. Crash, my Boltund, has a more stable gallop than Blitz did. Now, let's ride. Our destination is Chimney Canyon, which is a pretty good distance from the north gate of Mauville City. I assume you've read the briefing already?" howard slayte {WC: 435} {PC: 1} NAME SPECIES STATUS Saber Manectric Good Crash Boltund Good Pinky Sylveon Good Pazuzu Pidgeot Good Resheph Dragonair Good Mastema Togekiss Good
